With the continuous development of society, people’s lives are extended, as the elderly population is increasing, China has entered the aging society. The current more and more elderly people living alone, and had poor health and memory.so the daily health and safety issues become the focus of social attention. At present, the wireless sensor network technology matures, provides a good technical support for the study of the old man physiological condition and living environment.Wireless sensor network developing rapidly, especially the ZigBee technology has a high reliability, low cost, low power consumption and a series of advantages, in many industries such as industrial, medical, household has been very widely used. And in recent years the wireless sensor network research and practice of the theory and experience in national academia, to provides important technical support of the old man’s physical condition and living environment test system, the use of wireless sensor network technology and sensor technology with each other to make the system function.This system based on Internet of things technology, first of all to CC2530 transceiver circuit chip as the core processor design, routing the algorithm for ZigBee network usually adopt, reduce forwarding hop count, in order to improve the working efficiency of the routing. Second, use of the corresponding sensor to detect the old man’s heart rate, body temperature in the physiological parameter information and the living environment of gas concentration, and matching the hardware circuit design, fast accurate for detection of the physiological indexes of information to determine its health, monitoring environment, whether there is a hidden trouble. If detected index anomalies are immediately notify their family members, contact the relevant personnel to handle, and send out sound and light alarm in emergency conditions. Finally using IAR development environment for each node module programming and design the system software, this study is helpful for the elderly in a timely manner to know their own health, and can avoid to the sudden accident, have a positive effect on the old man and his family.
