A Methodology Research In Creation Process Of Product 3D Demonstrating Animation

Product 3D animation is a kind of animation that shows the product’s appearance, structure, function to the cooperators, investors, customers by modeling and making animation of the product. However, most of the process of Product 3D animation is inefficient nowadays because different designers prefer different software and there’s no systematic research on this process.In this paper, common process of product 3D animation is reviewed and researched of their advantages and disadvantages. We set up an evaluation model to judge different process, and to summarize and predict the future and regulation of software development and 3D animation, which is theoretical.We also present a new process based on our evaluation model using different software, as well as developing a plugin for Maya which can produce explosive view animation with time-delay trailing effects and other functions, which improves the efficiency of the process and the quality of the animation.We test the efficiency and quality of our process by making a simple product animation using our process and former processes. Then we use this process in a commercial project, the product 3D animation of gooro, a smart-light developed by Hangzhou Light-hi Tech Co., Ltd, to verify that the process is helpful in practical scene, even better than specialized advertising agency’s process.
