Through analysis of Domestic and international animation industry' development of the situation, we find animation industry at the international level of concern, and it's one of the most important industries. Software industry will play the leading role in industry, because of many industries are related with software. Bring the development of software technology into the 3-D animation software applications, can make 3-D animation's production processes more systematic and standardization, and can improve product quality.The article focus on applying software engineering development models in three-dimensional animation production. From studying the traditional method of modeling, find similarity between software engineering development models and animation modeling. By contrast and analysis, we find that animation modeling is similar with waterfall model. Because of its defects, it can't use in large project in 3-D animation's production like waterfall model can't use in large software project. So weapply another modeling method--incremental model in building animation model.Article analyzes incremental model using in building animation model, and find each incremental process begin from lens narrow. Each time the camera closer, observation point will transform. The article discusses how to consummate the model from all angles and all kinds of distance, until meeting customer's requirements.Incremental modeling must promote the development of three-dimensional animation industry; greatly enhance the 3D animation modeling efficiency and quality, and make 3D animation modeling more standardized and systematic. This proved that under software engineering theory, the animation industry will be a bright future.
