With more and more attention to the cultivation of application-oriented talents, CDIO education philosophy will receive much more attention in the Chinese applied colleges. Digital signal processing as the core curriculum of electrical engineering specialty, must be operate in accordance with the CDIO mode, however, the current DSP experiment platform on market can not well meet the requirements of DSP CDIO engineering education. In order to solve the problem of traditional DSP experiment platform, this paper design and develop a set of DSP experimental platform with TMS320C5515, which provides a platform for cultivating students’ engineering ideas.Based on the research of digital signal processing experiment syllabus, analyzes the domestic and international tradition DSP experimental boxes, development boards, combined with the CDIO engineering education ideas, design the experimental platform. The core processor of platform is fixed-point DSP chip TMS320C5515, with modular design, form an open platform. This article focuses on the hardware design process and experiment items, the main contents include:1. Introduce the features of TMS320C5515, and the core system is designed to be fully open-ended and extensible.2. In addition to the core system, the design includes power supply module, the oscillation circuit module, JTAG module, USB module, voice module, LCD module, memory expansion modulE, Micro SD module, keyboard and LED module, ADC protection module, DAC module. These modules are designed to be simple, easy to understand. At the same time, can constitute a complex system by combining different modules.3. The platform designs three experiments of practical application value. Especially, introduces the experiment principle and the software design process. The students of different levels can be different requirements, can complete small projects, also can complete complex project which consists of several small project.The experimental platform is modular, hierarchical design, set enough ports for easy testing, and fully meet the needs of DSP courses. Through the platform, the experimenter not only to develop software, but also master the hardware design, and exercise the practical engineering competence. On the experimental platform, the experimenter can not only complete DSP routine experimental projects, master the principles and development process of DSP, but also complete some practical projects, even can design their own hardware circuit with existing modules, constitute their products to enrich the pilot project.
