In recent years, as the rapid development of electronic technology and the proliferation of the use of microcontroller, our daily lives increasingly become convenient and efficient. In an automatic application system, microcontroller which is considered as a kernel component could make up a functional circuit with other hardware and control them. However, some students only possess limited knowledge in such field and lack of competitive ability in future job-market. In this paper, we focus on how to design and produce a robot with original approach, called CDIO – that is, Conceive, Design, Implement and Operation. Indispensably, it presents the ingenious education theory oriented to product and takes advantage of interdisciplinary knowledge. In addition, the combination of instruction and contest promotes the students' enthusiasm for study and inspires them. The design and production of mobile robot are based on 32 bit embedded microcontroller processor(STM32F103C8T6) and the minor system-board of microcontroller and add processing system, including the motor drive circuit(L298), the stabilized power supply(LM2596), MIC5205BM5 circuit and BMX-02 bluetooth communication module, which assemble the whole circuit. The detailed procedure includes realizing the design, circuit board graph which is drawn by Altium_Designer9 and PCB double-sided board, which is based on well comprehension of assemblage of components, by carving machine, and then composing electronic components manually. The schematic diagram of the mobile robot is graphed by Altium_Designer9. Based on well comprehension of component assemblage, we design on PCB double-sided board, print the blueprint by carving machine and then assemble electronic components manually.Plus, when programing on Keil uVision4 software platform, we split the program to serval modules in order to comprehend executing and debugging method and then complete the whole program. Especially in several early experiments, debugging the machine which controls movement of robot's arm up and down, we might make tons of attempts to get precise position of arm movement by microcontroller timing device.Applying this concept of education, we could collaborate with our teammates on design and program and finally learn the method how to produce a mobile robot. It definitely cultivate students' skill of practice.
