Under the environment of spread of new media, the traditional broadcasting program is confronting a severe competition. Event arrangement becomes an imminent issue that concerns the traditional broadcasting program and opens the new market and establishes the brand power,especially with the foreign event. With the factor of high cost of production and cross region, event arrangement becomes a special tool for traditional broadcasting program to take the market share.With the development of the Chinese national strategy known as "one belt and one road" in 2015,within the same year Chengdu had established a mutual connection with European countries by construction of high-speed railway. This paper discusses the issue with the opportunity and definition of the foreign-related broadcasting. Under these circumstances, the Sichuan economic radio independently arranges corresponding report with "One belt and one road", receiving a remarkable feedback from the market, which enhances the brand power of the Sichuan economic radio. This paper starts with the instance, and combines the special factors of both radio media and new media. The analysis showing in the paper indicates that a successful event arrangement plays an important role in enhancing the market competitiveness of the traditional media. Meanwhile,this paper looks into the necessity and the importance of the event arrangement, elaborating the thought and the procedure of event arrangement abroad; combining with "one belt and one road" report program undertaking by Sichuan economic radio. This paper shows that the event arrangement possesses a significant objective for the traditional media, which corresponds with the timely issue and makes an entirely new experience in the content, format and scale of the radio program.
