The Research On Improving Countermeasure Of College Students’ Digital Media Literacy

Nowadays,Digital Media Business is bringing tremendous and profound changes to the society with irresistible force,leading a worldwide trend of information and communications technology development. Also,it has a great and inevitable important influence on people’s study and work. Actually,it is establishing a new life for our human beings through the information and services it offers. As the main group of using digital media, college students have a closer relationship with it. So the level of the attainment of digital media will surely put effects on their healthy growth, integrated development as well as the accomplishment of the country’s training requirements.Through summarizing the present research situation and the previous research experience of digital media literacy at home and abroad, this thesis clarifies the basic concepts about digital media and media literacy and it also defines the conception of digital media literacy and clarifies its content from three aspects: the knowledge of digital media, the ability for applying it and the attitude to apply it.To support the investigation of situation digital media literacy with solid evidence, questionnaires were sent out to 487 college students in Hangzhou following with an interview. After the investigation, this thesis seizes the current situation of digital media literacy of university students and finds out that most students have a positive attitude to it and represent good skills in communication.However, they have many problems in information retrieval, digital content creation,critical attitude and moral consciousness.Based on the survey,the thesis explores the main facts impacting the students’ digital media literacy from three aspects: the impact from an individual, the impact from school, the impact from the society to provide practical basis for the improvement of countermeasures.The improvement of digital media literacy of university students is an important task in digital age. In the last part of this thesis, measures to cultivate the students’ digital media literacy are discussed combining the foreign experience with the domestic influence factors and real situation:Universities should make full use of its advantages to ensure the education of digital media literacy; Individuals should strengthen the ability of self-education and pay attention to the self-promotion concerning the knowledge of digital media literacy. The government, mass media,family and community should strengthen their relationship, try to create a good digital media environment for university students, and form the joint participation of the whole society, so as to improve the level of college students’ digital media literacy effectively.
