With the progress of modern science and technology, mechanization and intelligent agriculture is gradually replacing the traditional agriculture and becoming the general direction of agriculture development. In agricultural production, temperature, humidity, light intensity and carbon dioxide play an important role on the growth of crops, especially in greenhouse crops, environmental requirements more stringent. In traditional agriculture, the acquire of environment data mainly by people visual or experience to detect, lack of quantitative data, greatly limits the growth and yield of crop. This paper focuses on the advantages and disadvantages of greenhouses and designs a greenhouse wireless environmental monitoring system based on WSN technology. People in the office can know the conditions of greenhouses in real-time, so that people can solve the existing issues immediately without entering into the greenhouse frequently to measure and thus avoid consuming the massive labor forces and the reduction of production because of the worsening of environment. This system mainly divides into two major parts:the wireless monitoring nodes in greenhouses and the monitoring terminal in office. The monitoring part uses PC software for monitoring and data processing. The main technologies involved are the combination of temperature and humidity sensor with the Zigbee module to achieve the collection of environmental information, routing techniques in wireless sensor networks in order to transmit information to the monitor terminal through nodes, the design of PC monitoring system, the design of visual interface using the c# language, and serial port communication technology between the Zigbee module and the computer. After the system is set up, the nodes can be distributed in the layout, and the computer can be measured. The time and condition of the test is limited. The change of the environment factors is not obvious, but it can be seen that the system can work well.
