With the rapid development of industry, all types of factories discharge industrialwastewater into rivers furtively leading to river pollution has become more and moreserious. In order to change the current rivers’ status of treatment after pollution, thereal-time monitoring of water quality put forward higher request. The traditional waterquality monitoring methods are mainly manual off-line operation and on-linemonitoring. Due to field sampling, manual off-line operation makes the operator’smore workload and longer monitoring period. Thus this approach can not timely findriver pollution and lack of real time. Water quality on-line monitoring method makesuse of cable transmission. It has cockamamie wiring and high cost, so not conducive topopularization.Focus on the complexity of the polluted water, the water environment and varioussurrounding factors are analyzed. Awater quality monitoring system framework whichbased on wireless sensor network is proposed in this article. The system collects waterquality parameters’ data which are monitoring by the sensor nodes, and transfers thedata to the monitoring center in time. If the monitoring center finds the water ispolluted, it could alarm immediately. Therefore, this system can supervise and managethe river pollution timely and effectively.The focus of this article is based on the ZigBee wireless sensor technology toachieve data acquisition and transmission of water quality parameters. First of all, selectthe sensors and main components. In this article, CC2430as a core chip of sensor node.Secondly, realize the hardware and software design of wireless sensor node modules.Water quality parameters collected by the sensors via the signal conditioning circuit for data conversion process. Transmit data to the sensor nodes after processing to achievedata acquisition of water quality parameters. At the same time, by analysis functions foreach node in ZigBee net, completed the hardware and software programming design ofcoordinator node and routing node. Through the coordination testing of hardware andsoftware, enabling point to point communication and composed of ZigBee networks.Experimental tests show that the system can realize to data acquisition and wirelesstransmission for temperature and PH parameters in different solution. Node modulesimplements themselves functionality and meet the design requirements of system.
