There has been great difficulties for project-based machinery manufacturing enterprises to achieve information-oriented production management, for they have various products and small but random orders. Starting from this issue, this project, researching on a project-based manufacturing enterprise,Tonghe Company, using Oracle Primavera P6 and SQL Server 2005 as the main platform, designs and builds a production information management system for such enterprises, which provides a practical case for reference of informatization to similar enterprises.After surveying Tonghe Company, this project establishes functional models on the production process of the company, and sums up the currently existing problems. After considering the organizational structure and production processes of Tonghe Company, a scheme for production management based on P6 software is designed. The project also designs for the management system seven positions, such as system administrator, project supervisor, planner, and so on. And for each position, the operational responsibilities are planned and the work view is designed in P6 software.In the system, every operation taken by a user represents his own authority, so it must be made sure that the contents of each job can only be edited by the job user. However, the rights setting in P6 cannot meet the needs above. As a result, this project designs the realization scheme of rights management system from both P6 and database programming. The rights management system is divided into five modules, and the implementation of each module is introduced in detail mainly at the database level. Two soft wares, one for prompting the user and the other for installing, are developed to facilitate the users.An outstanding feature of information-oriented production management is that the status of the parts can be reflected in real time during production. In order to achieve it, RFID devices are used, and two soft wares, one for initializing RFID tags and the other for uploading data, are developed based on the law by which the information is stored in the P6 database. The RFID devices and P6 software are combined by uploading production information to P6 database with RFID devices.This project also develops three ancillary functions for the system: a software to transform Word or Excel table into xml file in a certain form from which the parts list can be quickly imported into P6; three statistical indicators, production rate, achievement rate, and completion rate, for analyzing the capacity of machines and evaluating the progress of projects, and the report and computing program designed for them; and a method with programs to realize automatic calculation between columns in P6.
