With the increasing demand for Hi-tech equipment, research institutes in China are facing more scientific research and manufacture tasks than before. Traditional production management method can not adapt to the complex and changeable situation due to diversified production tasks. Production management digitalization is regarded as a good approach to enhance production management level and efficiency. Production management digitalization has two aspects: one is production management workflow digitization to solve the whole process sharing of production data; the other is integration of related external application system (such as CAPP, PDM) into the overall workflow of production management to form a close loop control.With the universal software development platform tools VS2005(Visual Studio 2005) adopting distributed multi-tier.NET framework, based on the multi-categories and small-Batch features of production management in research institutes, utilizing software reuse B/S hierarchy architecture and distributed Web Services EAI fundamental data integration, a production management system (PMS) is designed, which has realized seamless integration with CAPP and PDM, solving the "information island" in research institutes, meeting their requirement on production management, improving research and production efficiency dramatically.This system is mainly orientated to research institutes and can be used as good reference for enterprise production management digitalization featured with multi-categories and small-Batch.
