At the same time of the defects of low sensitivity and dynamic range in CMOS image sensor being gradually improved, a series of advantages, such as low power consumption, small system size, easy integration with digital circuit, are growing research boom in the industry. With its low prices, excellent image quality, high level of integration CMOS image sensor get more extensive application in areas such as security monitoring, multimedia.To further enrich the CMOS image sensor on-chip function, This paper designed a kind of algorithm which can be integrated into the CMOS image sensor, and the algorithm is used for detection of moving object and improves the security function of CMOS image sensor. In this paper, the work mainly included:① This paper introduces the imaging principle of CMOS image sensor, on-chip digital signal processing circuit system, especially the detailed implementation of the digital system’s video input(interpolation algorithm),introduces the overall strategy of adjusting the field of view based on moving object detection.② The classic moving target detection algorithms are studied and compared, and their feasibility in the on-chip system are analyzed. According to the actual requirements, an algorithm which is based on the comparison of characteristic value and update of detection area is put forward. The basic idea of the algorithm is of regarding eigenvalues of the image block as specific pixels, detecting the moving object using the eigenvalue then making location accurate with multiple tests to achieve the goal of detecting moving objection.③ A spatial model of application field of image sensors is established,in the model strategy of field adjustment is analyzed. Firstly the strategy changes image pixel distance into view angle in the field,then quantitates the field then calculates the plus number used to control view direction.④ According to the mentioned algorithm,the paper designs sequential circuits of the system using Verilog HDL, and describes the principle of each module and design results. Obtained from the simulation results, the method of moving object detection and automatic field adjustment scheme proposed in the paper is feasible in the on-chip system with limited system resources.This paper puts forward a kind of on-chip realizable moving objection detection algorithm, verifies the algorithm using MATLAB. Then this paper designs sequential circuits system to detect the moving object and adjust the field of view using verilog HDL, does functional simulation for the sequential circuits with modelsim, verifies the feasibility of the automatic field adjustment scheme based on moving object detection.
