As a large agriculture country, China has the most dazzling agricultural civilization in the history of the world. Today, with the rapid development of our country’s economy, the accelerated pace of modernization construction and the reform has entered into the “deep water area”, China’s agriculture is from tradition to modernization, from backwardness to civilization in rural areas and peasants are from poverty to the well-off society in the transition period. Therefore, solving the peasants, countryside and agriculture of the“three-agriculture” issues better has been the focus of the work in the Party and the government all the time. It is about one billion three hundred million Chinese eating; it is related with raising the whole national qualities; it is connected with building the modern socialist country; it has relation with the big problem to achieve the greatest rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Agriculture is the foundation for China’s economic and social development. To solve the“three-agriculture” issues better, we must first face to the peasants who are regarded as main body. More than 30 years of reform and opening-up has given peasants the right of economic autonomy. The popularization of culture and education, the development of modern communication and the promotion of the urbanization all make peasants happen intense differentiation in their interiors. The peasants’ structure of one-yuan has been divided into a poly-basic structure. Today’s peasants have become a complex and diverse group; they are an important force for social progress. How to interpret the modern Chinese peasants correctly?How to construct the peasants’ images under the media environment? What are the significance of these positive peasants’ images for the peasants themselves, for the citizens or for the whole country?This paper is no longer confined to the paper spread about the images of peasants like usual. It chooses the most authoritative CCTV-7 of agricultural programs as the researchobject. With the existing literature materials and the investigation data, I use the sampling investigation and case analysis and other methods in communication. I attempt to analyze the related backgrounds, definitions and various agricultural columns to study the construction ways and the specific images of contemporary peasants. By looking for the gains and the losses in the construction, I want to find the worth learning places and the countermeasures.Then I will summarize the significance of constructing the new peasants’ images and come up with the practical faced difficulties in the construction. So the media can mend the agendas setting timely and appropriately in order to set good examples for peasants and mobilize them to observe and learn, their old ideas will be changed so that they can realize the modernization of themselves. Under building the new socialist countryside, their incomes will increase, their cultural and recreational lives will get richer, their rights will be protected and their self-identities will be raised gradually. Finally, the gap between the urban and the rural areas will narrow. The nation is prosperous and the people are strong and powerful. At the same time, a window for the whole society to understand the group of the peasants will be opened.
