CCTV "see" Column Thematic Studies

CCTV "Oriental Horizon" made its first appearance on the China’s TV screen on May1,1993, which signed that Chinese TV News Column had upgraded to a new level, and opened "Column Time "in the true sense. Now, after nearly10years development, various TV column programs had developed colorfully and prosperously, such as documentary TV programs, interview TV programs. At the same time, the research on TV column is just non-stopping in a long period, no matter a new-born column or a longer historical and remarkable TV Column, they are both the research focus."Insight"—ss a daily special column, is firstly broadcast in CCTV-1on December,62010.It strives to record the psychological changes of human in the period of social transition. It is gradually known by TV audience for its persistent attention to the most original appearance of news events and its sustaining focus on living condition of lower groups. After a period’s development,"Insight" made a great change in its history which redesigned a weekend evening column which added interview parts. It gathered persons who posses "hot, stories, news, entertainment" as objects of interview part. Change in form reflected that "Insight" perfected its subjects, narrowed audience, embody value appeal, in the meantime it consolidated its target audience group. After all, it gradually gained high praise from both industry and academia.This thesis stands at the height of the development of times and television reform, analyses all the programs of this column, tries to figure out the backgrounds, stages, features, reference values and other factors by methods of content analysis, examples and illustrations. For this, the following are the writing ideas. First chapter is the introduction, mainly aimed at the major research background, significance, research methods, as to solve the main problem. The second chapter points out the building backgrounds—external cause and internal cause. The third chapter provides a path of "Insight" adapting itself to macroscopic environment and divides three stages—exploration period, development period, and maturity period, then this thesis will local the content, function, audience of each part. The fourth chapter will summarize characteristics such as its packing style, humanistic care, hosting style, communication methods etc. The last chapter will conclude its value and provide enlightenment for other similar TV programs.
