In this thesis, the research work mainly focuses on the power marketing customer service issues in practice and suggests a solution to information isolated island problem by using geographic information systems to share customer location and grid resource information.Foreign power GIS application development has experienced "CAD + database” phase, the "traditional GIS application” stage, in the early 1990 s, into the "AM / FM / GIS application “stage.Establishing a “digital power " and " collaborative work environment" characterized by the power of GIS has become power enterprises’ necessarytool in developed countries, in order to enhance their competitiveness(reduce production costs, improve service levels).China’s electric power related GIS technology market has started. And China currently also has a world-class power-related GIS system software and construction techniques. Implementing domestic power GIS application software and developing the software which is suited to China’s national conditions of power-related GIS applications, are China’s electric power system operation and management of production’s opportunities to catch up with international standards.Although the increasing demand for GIS applications promotes the rapid development of the market, the corresponding application of GIS technology standards and normative work has not been well established on a timely manner. In reality, the phenomenon of " GIS technology standard falling behind GIS market development " leads GIS software retailers to mislead some customers in software application, which directly hinders the development of practical GIS technology, especially electricity-related GIS needs. In addition, as the construction of the main GIS system for the grid not only requires a lot of resources and massive collection of customer data gathering and clean-up, but also faces the enormous challenge of data, the current application work based on GIS is still on its initial stage.This research demonstrates that by achieving fault repair repairs, client counseling, blackout regional analysis announcements and other business information technology support, with the aid of GIS visualization’s advantages and grid equipment space topology model, combined with marketing-related business, we can achieve multi-disciplinary application system data sharing and seamless integration of processes and spatial information support for geographic information marketing business providing integrated information support, improving the level of marketing information and level of quality service.
