Aiming at the needs of human-computer interaction of the portable virtual instrument system, we study a variety of interactive ways facing the portable virtual instrument system, and design an interactive device which can complete the control of instruments as well as keyboard and mouse input peripherals. This interactive device combines gesture recognitions and wearable computing with it. Thus the users can control the interface of virtual instruments more naturally, and achieve the function of traditional keyboards and mice in the air easier. When service men work outdoors repairing complex electronic devices, their hands and sight need switch between equipments and testing instruments frequently, which seriously reduces the operating efficiency. These instruments couldn’t be used normally on special occasions, such as when the user is moving or lying. When the users are in a small space, they can’t even carry into the instrument. On account of these problems, we combine the test equipment with wearable computing platform and design the backpack and wearable instrument system. We also optimize the traditional model of the keyboard and mouse in order to help service men complete tasks conveniently. The main contents of this paper include:(1) analysis of the development of a wearable computer interaction device( forearm keyboard, Twiddler, etc.).(2) coming up with requirements analysis for test equipment used in special occasions( in a narrow space, move or lie down mode), difficulty levels of controlling the instrument, as well as domestic and foreign research status of wearable instrument user interfaces.(3) the human-computer interaction device design combined instrument functional requirements, wear virtual instrumentation hardware architecture and the use of form.(4) building software and hardware platform, completing the design project, and finally testing the designed wearable instruments to determine whether the data achieve the targets.
