The coverage of China Unicom’s WCDMA network is becoming more complete, and with the increase of large number of users in WCDMA networks, the requirements of users have gradually been improved, so WCDMA network requires even better optimization. How to allow users to reside in WCDMA network as long as possible and reduce switching to GSM,WCDMA network is the first issues that we face.This paper studies the different mainstream WCDMA network terminal, and selects six mainstream terminals of iPhone4, iPhone4 s, iPhone5, Galaxy3, Note2, Nokia6720, respectively. In a variety of wireless environments, we take a number of comparative testing and analysis the switching and re-election performance of these six models mainstream according to terminal RSCP, Ec / Io, 3G> 2G switching time, 2G> 3G reselection. The test and analysis results are studied to how to set the switching reselection parameters in order to make more mainstream end customers reside in the WCDMA network. When the users are in WCDMA network weak coverage areas, voice call service are switched as earlily as possible to GSM, while at the end of the call, the terminal will switch back to the WCDMA network resides to meet the requirement of the data services of users.The results show that the switch reselection parameters are setted to take fully advantage of Maanshan Unicom WCDMA network and to improve customers satisfactroy.
