In recent years, With the rapid development of communication technology in international community, information science and technology has become a powerful boost to the international community and the world economy.3G technology has been deep into every aspect of our lives.WCDMA system, the system as the most mature 3G technology standards, has been widely recognized and used worldwide. Over the years, communications technology play an important role in the water Security, growing awareness of information between ship and shore exchanges. Meanwhile, with the rapid development of river shipping industry, the traditional mobile communication has been difficult to meet the needs of inland water transport industry, The importance of mobile communications in inland port has also begun to reflcect. This paper attempts to analyze a variety of traditional means of communication and the river WCDMA network technology based on the characteristics of WCDMA system soft handoff algorithm, network optimization and application in river ports and other aspects of communication to make in-depth discussion and study.First of all, the paper elaborate the WCDMA network structure, system characteristics, system characteristics, mainly refer to the wireless transmission characteristics, and capacity characteristics of near-far effect, while these features, the WCDMA system introduced several key technologies: power-control technology, soft switch technology multi-user detection. Effective combination of these technologies makes the WCDMA system can very well against the decline of the wireless transmission process, making system maintain good communication performance. By the differences between WCDMA and GSM in the network planning, I Research network planning problems ang analyze WCDMA networks difficulties closely related to several issues. As I understand the WCDMA radio network planning of the key problem, I get the most basic understanding of the WCDMA planning.Second, this article research network simulation theory, implementation, and in network planning application. In the current based on the use of study and experimental simulation, I used the OPNET network simulation tool to carry out dynamic network simulation experiments, the network configuration parameters through a reasonable set to achieve network optimization.Finally, taking into account the special nature of mobile communications inland port, I propose river port communications coverage and capacity optimization program based on WCDMA network system. In addition, this paper also take study on WCDMA technological Application in the field of inland port traffic.
