With the development of wireless communication technology, the third generation communication system has appeared because the second generation GSM/CDMA communication systems cannot meet the requirements of multimedia resources and the high rate of data transmission. As the earliest standard of 3G, WCDMA developed rapidly. Among the three standards including WCDMA and TD-SCDMA and CDMA2000, WCDMA is the most mature one.Currently on the market,3G terminal has the shortcomings of style less, high price, single function. Therefore, it has become the bottleneck of the development of 3G business. On the other hand, articals on the research and analysis of 3G terminal rf-circuits are rarely, especially on the introduction and test of the whole system's rf performance. To solve the above problems, a rf circuit of a WCDMA terminal is designed, and the meanings of RF parameters raised in 3GPP are introduced.In this paper, the structure of RF transivers, their advantages and disadvantages, the key technology of WCDMA system are simply introduced firstly. Then taking the Qualcomm6270 as the research platform, the design process of the RF circuit of transmitter and receiver are explained in detail, corresponding 3GPP is also expounded. After the whole circuits completed, its terminal is calibrated. Finally, the performance of the RF transiver is tested and the relevant dates are given. The result shows that the designed WCDMA terminal meets the standard of 3GPP completely.
