The Design And Implementation Of An Information Management System In Rural Primary And Secondary Schools

With the rapid development of computer and Internet technology, the electronic informationization has been increasingly accelerated in related industries. To keep pace with the times, the tendency to be informationized electronically in Chinese educational sectors is also very significant. However, it has not spread completely into the primary and middle schools, especially the ones in rural areas. China has long been an agricultural country, in which the majority of its population is involved in rural sectors and its primary and secondary school students constitute a larger portion. Therefore, it is very necessary to enhance its process of electronic informationization to speed the whole growth of this sector.With the expansion of such schools and increasing students, many schools confront a shortage of employees. With so much data involved, how to employ teaching resources, improve their efficiency, standardize its management and search personal data have become the center in their information management.This system can be mainly employed in information management of the primary and secondary schools in rural areas, whose development bases on the B/S mode, C# programming language, ASP.NET technology. It is designed in object-oriented methods to realize its function and interacts with its utilizers through the WEB way. The functional modules of the system consist of the following systems: system management module, enrollment management module, students’ management module, faculty’s management module, curriculum management module, class management module and help-seeking module. The most advanced and flexible computer programming language Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and Microsoft’s Internet Information Server(IIS) are mainly employed in its design. Its requirement analysis, detailed design, coding and testing have been accomplished with software engineering technology to makes the system robust and stable, simple and faster etc.The system has been applied in some schools after being developed and debugged. Serious mistakes never appear in the management of teaching affairs, teachers and students’ information from the current feedback. The software reduces management cost greatly and improves the working efficiency of various departments, so it receives the approval of the school’s administration.
