The personnel management information system is a set of convenient and efficient personnel management information system geared to the needs of our school’s personnel department. Before the develo pment of t his system, the personnel management information system that we used was still of low autom ation and mannually operated mainly; on the other hand,as the system was bought directly from the foreign company, most of its functions did not conform to th e school’s truth, and also not practical or s table. Therefore, I made a decision to develop the system. The system has changed the multifarious operating mode existe d in trad itional personnel department, and has m ade full use of el ectronic, science a nd technology, modern technology and inform ation technology, to ach ieve the autom ation of the personnel management. The system provides not only the electronic traditional management,but a application system which considers hum an resource management as the core,and integrates the daily personnel information management, personnel assessment, statistics and salary management.There are a variety of elem ents in the personnel m anagement system, such as: personnel management, organization management, office equipment, rules and regulations, the business links, various management techniques and methods, etc., these can be regarded as the "elem ents". Whether or not there is a connection between these elements, or whether the m ethod and effect of the connection is the best will directly affects the level of personnel m anagement. Under different conditions, the dom inant element is not the sam e. One im portant goal of the personnel m anagement systematization is to surr ound the responsibility and perf ormance, and it gradually establish a complete system supporting cadres "into", "govern", and "out". To realize the systematic, beyond solving the pr oblem of system, there is s till a question to grasp the method of system, knowing how t o apply e ngineering systems and s ystem analysis method, and this will im pose a vital si gnificance on the personnel m anagement modernization.Therefore, I developed the m anagement information system based on the PowerBuilder 9.0 as the bac kground. After more than a y ear’s practice, the syste m which I developed is very practical. The system stored all the school’s or the personnel’s needed file and data into the computer, when required, we could inquire, search, maintain the personnel’ s basic inf ormation which include educational background, marital status, job title etc. and colle ct, process, manage, store and search new changed data, and real-tim e updata throuth understand ing and analyzing the related personnel mangement; on the other hand, we could search and carry on statistics about personnel according to all kinds of conditions, and we could print the related data out. The system has been used widely in school and appreciated by pesonnel.The full overview of the concept of personnel m anagement information system, structure and basic principle and m ethod of system development is divided into introduction, research status and the desi gn goal, developement tools and background, system structure and m odel, implementation of the system function, the m ain program design of the system and so on, there are seve n chapters. It elaborats the system design, the design idea of system development and the realization of the function of the system.
