With the development of economy and the increasing number of vehicles, the contradiction between the demand of urban parking space and the actual number of vehicles has become increasingly serious. The traditional parking lot system has many disadvantages such as parking problems, low efficiency of parking, low level of management and so on. On account of the background, this paper designs and implements a positioning and guiding system based on internet of things.This system is mainly composed of three parts:positioning and guiding terminal, wireless communication module and integrated management of the host computer. The positioning and guiding terminal can lead users to the assigned parking space quickly, which has some features including positioning, guiding, man-machine interaction, documents reading, service calling etc. The integrated management of the host computer is used to finish some work including managing vehicles, checking the terminal positioning information, controlling the positioning and guiding terminal etc.According to the current research of the wireless positioning and guiding technology, this paper determines the adopted algorithm and improves the positioning and guiding algorithm respectively in consideration of the environment of the parking lot.The design of the whole system consists of hardware and software design. The hardware part includes the positioning and guiding terminal, ZigBee wireless communication module. The software part mainly consists of three parts including wireless communication software technology, embedded system software technology and integrated management of the host computer.The hardware work of the system is mainly designing terminal display module interface circuit, DM9000 network interface circuit, JTAG interface circuit, power circuit, ZigBee wireless communication module etc, and drawing the PCB board of the terminal.The software of the whole system is designed with internet of things. The software process design of ZigBee wireless communication module contains coordinator, reference node and terminal node. The coordinator sets up the whole wireless network, and the coordinator is the communication medium between the integrated management of the host computer and each node of the network. The reference node either calculates the positioning parameter according to the improved algorithm and sends the data to the terminal node or sends the coordinate of its own and RSSI to the terminal node directly. The terminal node is positioning with RSSI and the parameter of the algorithm. On the basis of ZigBee communication, positioning and guiding terminal software is mainly designed with embedded technology and ZigBee technology:cutting and transplanting U-Boot, Linux kernel and root file system to set up the embedded system software environment; designing the system terminal application program according to the specific demand analysis. The integrated management of the host computer is designed on Qt platform, and it takes charge of managing the every terminal in the parking lot to achieve the comprehensive management, aimed at improving the efficiency of parking and the management level of the parking lot.As the development completed, the system is tested. The result shows that the positioning and guiding system based on internet of things is stable and reliable, according with the expected demand, and the whole system runs well.
