Chinese is the second largest ethnic group in Malaysia. Despite having strongly influenced by various cultures and languages in Malaysia, the Chinese TV programs are not being isolated, but have developed broadly and diversely throughout the years. Since the existence of Chinese TV broadcasting in Malaysia, it has brought significant impacts to Chinese community, with a wide range of TV channels, genres and program resources.To be in conformity with the paper, the paper focused on Malaysian Chinese, by conducting questionnaires and focus group interviews. Based on Cultural Proximity theory, the research aims to find out the current situation of Chinese TV in Malaysia, to discuss the correlation between TV Channels, genres and resources, to identify the weaknesses of Chinese-language TV broadcast in Malaysia and to give suggestions for the improvements.There are four sections in this paper. Firstly, to introduce the Chinese ethnic group, Chinese TV programs and the development of Chinese TV channels in Malaysia, also, to figure out the theoretical basis pertaining to this topic. Secondly, to introduce the surveys and contents, as well as to detail the methods adopted for the survey. Thirdly, to present the findings regarding the norms of Malaysian Chinese in watching Chinese TV programs and the reasons of those by analyzing the survey results and interview outcomes. Lastly, to provide suggestions for the export of Chinese mainland’s TV programs to Malaysia.
