The Research And Development Of The Management System For English Practice Center Based On Web Technology

This paper introduces the research and development of the management system which focuses on practice for English teaching based on Web technology. This system uses active server page (ASP) technology which is more easily to be realized and it supports multi script technology. The database for this system uses distributed database management system is SQL Server, which can be well combined with the other needed service software and it is supported by World Wide Web system (WWW) completely.It is very important to build an English teaching platform that can both meet the Individual requirements and can focus on the practicality. Also, the management system for this platform has to meet the requirements of teaching and revolves around the students’ needs. The system initially has to limit the choices to fit each student individually, this gives the features a more personalized feel. This system can reflect the quality of the teaching by targeting on the entire process which includes registry for classes, taking the classes, and feedback post classes. This aspect of the system is the main difference from other English teaching systems.This Web system is based on the technology of the internet information service provided by Microsoft Corporation. The whole system is developed by the platform of active server page. The method in process of design is based on the user and the access Control of the users. Different users have different operational permission, module permission and management permission. The users of this system can only operate the part that is in the range of authorization. And by this way, the security of this system is guaranteed.This paper discusses the design and the process of achieving the management system of the English practice platform. The differences of this system from others are as follows:1. We set up different courses according the diversity of the students’English level. Students’users can reserve the classes they needed four weeks before the class begins.2. The self-learning platform is without a physical textbook and the presence of a teacher, so it relies mainly on the self-motivation of students. At the same time, to preserve the quality of the lesson, the Web system keeps record of the students’ progress throughout the course of the semester. We also keep the records of the classes in the student ID card system in the whole system.3. Emphasize interactivity between the foreigner teachers and the students including the function of two-way evaluation between them and bulletin board system that the users can leave comments on this part of system.4. The system is very efficient and flexible system as it demands the students has to finish the booked class hours and it is also allowed the students to cancel the class they have booked24hours to avoid the waste of class hours.5.The lessons above the online includes oral practice courses, listening practice, writing courses and drama courses which can improve the students’interest in English learning. The course wide-ranging contents online, such as text lessons, teaching video and all of these teaching contents is to ensure the high efficiency of English learning.Currently, this system has been applied in the real educational activity and it makes the whole process of the educational activity carry on without any physical textbook. More than95percent students are satisfied with this system indicated by the feedback data from the students who have finished the network learning. And this has positive effect on other teaching organizations who also want to realize the process of paperless of English practice teaching.
