During the period of transformation with the high-speeddevelopment of economy society and facing the increasing competition ofenvironment, the pressure of city’s development and survival isincreasing as well. So that, it is the priority task of each city to broadcast,create and extend their images effectively. Since the late20thcentury,there was a boom of communication of city image and till now the cityimage is still the symbol of a city. City image is not only includes thecity’s constructions, transportation, view spots, and environmental in thehardware parts, but also includes the cultural, history, and human spiritsin the software parts. The construction of city image, as an important partof cultural, is the strategic content of the development of our country. Thecity image not only reflects a city’s comprehensive competitiveness, butalso is a index of urbanization and the level of cultural and ethic progress.A perfect city image regarded as a city’s intangible assets and is helpfulfor the city’s development in political, economy and cultural and createsmore value for the city.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is mainly about the image of a city at home and abroad,research status and research methods. For a detailed explanation of thecity image, the image text, media and other words. Then, put forward theinnovation of this paper. The second part analyzes the relationshipbetween the images and the image of the city. So, theresearch of image text used into the city image will have a profound andlong-lasting influence on the communication of city image.Ji’nan, known as the “City of Springs”, is the capital of Shandongprovince. Recent years, the city government and the mainstream of thecity’s media play a main role in the communication of city image. Thesuccessful of adverting was accomplished no matter in pictures,documents and TV serials. However, there were some difficulty anddisadvantages in the process of communication. And how to overcomethese disadvantages, find the right way and make reasonable strategiesare the problems that worth further discussing.
