Pacing with the accelerating of urbanization process,competition between different cities is increasingly fierce.Therefore,the city image management is increasingly got the attention of the researchers of city image and city managers.At present,the research of city image mainly uses qualitative research methods to explore the element of city image and city image communication problems.Although there is some quantitative research which develop measurement scale to measure city image symbols,different society may construct different scale for measuring the symbol of city image,in addition to this,some scale is questioned for lack of universality and effectiveness.In view of this,this dissertation proposes a quantitative method to analyze the city image by analyzing the emotions of the symbolic elements of the city image in social media texts.This method is mainly composed of two parts:(1)The method of city image symbol identification.The identification method of city image symbol is divided into two processes: the first process is the city image symbol element mining in the social media text;The second process is to cluster the excavated urban image symbol elements and form different types of image symbol system.(2)The method of city image symbol sentiment measurement.Various category of city image symbol under the perspective of the public can be obtained from the first part method.And then the sentiment words which evaluate the symbol element in social media comment text will be mined.The intensity of sentiment tendentiousness of sentiment word will be calculated,therefore,the intensity of the public's emotional orientation towards these symbols can be obtained.After that,these different categories symbols emotion tendentiousness intensity values will be accumulated to determine the public overall sentiment tendencies toward the overall city image.At the same,the constructed method will be applied to the identification and analysis of city image symbols in the social media texts.The method of symbol identification and sentiment analysis of city image based on social media text constructed in this paper further improves the method system of city image research on the theoretical level.On the practical level,this method can be used to directly calculate the intensity value of the emotion tendency of the identified city image symbols,and the obtained sentiment measurement results can be used to compare the images of different multi-dimensional cities,so as to provide a basis for city managers to make decisions on city image management.
