Design An Implementation Of The Library Integrated System Based On The B/S Structure

Influenced by the old ideas, for a long time libraries in our country are operatedin the traditional way, with the purpose of increasing the book collection but lesspraticcally-used. In all the cities of our country, authority-owned libraries anduniversity libraries are separate units, and the resources can not be shared digitally,causing serious waste. Readers are accessible to the library resource service in theirown cities or nearby liberaries, and can’t enjoy other libraries’ services, for example:reader A want to borrow books from liberary B must apply again. Such service modecannot meet the readers’ personalized needs, and also has caused great inconvenience,making resources in the whole city or region uneffectivly used. And the launch ofseveral influential large-scale library systems domestically in mid1990s can not keeppace with the rapid increased requirements of resource sharing. As for the reason, C/Sstructure is the main factor and if the B/S structure can replace C/S structure, theproblems can be solved.This paper expands the solving method by applying the library integrated systembased on B/S structure, JAVA technology and SQL SERVER2005database. Inaccordance with requirements of the J2EE standard, three layer architecture meets thescalable development needs of software system and the security requirements and alsofits the trend of IT technology development. Being an open system of multilayerstructure based on internet, this system can realize the functions combination of thetraditional management and huge amounts of digital resource management. Viainternet, it can make the metropolitan area network conected to the librarys in the citytogether, forming a regional group of virtual library to realize long-distance libraryoperation of freely book borrowing and returning. Meanwhile problems such as dataprotection in the network off-line can be solved, and zero maintenance system can solve the problem caused by the shortage of library computer technicians.B/S technology can not only meet the demands of library management and alsohelpful in the library associations under high-speed network and cloud computing,resources sharing and other new services. This system software has good quality insecurity and extensibility, and can be applied in all sorts of mainstream hardwareplatform and operating systems, and the upgrade is convenient and simple. It alsosupports the mainstream web server, easy to integrate various resources and put intouse and the entire system platform can be accessible and manageable via the browser.So obviously the B/S structure of the library integrated system is much moreadvantageous in network technology than the C/S structure. With the libraryinformation technology rapidly developing today, B/S model can form a regionalgroup of virtual library, establish a regional library group of electronic, digital andnetworked information space. At the same time, through an open multilayer structure,resource sharing, cooperation among libraries home and abroad, and library resourceeffective management can be realized in the true sense. That will make the libraryservice move to a new developing period.
