The traditional library's access to books depends on the manual sorting of books,which is inefficient,increases the operating cost and adds extra waiting time for readers.In order to solve these problems,it is necessary to design an effective automatic book borrowing and returning system to replace the manual work of sorting,identifying books and automatic access.This paper analyzes the present situation of the library in our country,and designs the automatic book borrowing and returning system in order to improve the efficiency of the library.The whole system can be divided into four parts,namely,the bookshelf,the automatic book-borrowing robot,the book-borrowing route and the charging area.The automatic book-borrowing robot is the main part of the system,the automatic book borrowing and returning robot can be divided into two parts: a manipulator and a conveying mechanism;the other parts assist the robot to work together,thus constituting the whole automatic book borrowing and returning system.This paper mainly discusses the work flow of the system and the design of the robot for borrowing and returning books,selects the type of the conveying mechanism and the clamping mode of the manipulator of the system,does the corresponding design work according to the type selection,and analysis of its movement mode of work.The main design of the following content:(1)The whole process of borrowing and returning books is designed,including the whole process from the index of books to the collection and placement of books.(2)Designing the conveying mechanism of the automatic book borrowing and returning system,including the selection of the moving mechanism and the design and calculation of the driving structure;designing the manipulator mechanism to ensure the smooth operation of the manipulator in the X,Y and Z axial directions,and to ensure the accuracy and stability of grasping;and carries on the stress analysis to it,to ensure the reliability of the work.(3)The three-dimensional modeling of the designed automatic book borrowing and returning system is carried out,and the feasibility of the scheme is verified through Solidworks simulation.(4)The kinematics of the manipulator is analyzed to ensure that the robot can work according to the designed structure,and its modeling is simulated with MATLAB.(5)Designed the recognition program for readers and books,so as to identify the customers and the books needed to be borrowed and returned,and then to grasp and return the books accurately.
