With the development of digital technology, data acquisition system has been used inmore and more fields, such as industrial control, wireless communication, scientificexperiments and many other fields. And the requirements of acquisition system for thereal-time and high-speed are higher and higher.At present, most of the data acquisition products on the domestic and foreign marketsare based on MCU, DSP or FPGA as the control center, and use PCI as the peripheral bus.Due to the limit of the bus, these acquisition products are easily influenced by othercomponents in the host. Moreover, how to collect large volume data continuously withhigh-speed and real-time is a key problem of data acquisition system. This paper which basedon the development status of data acquisition technology and theoretical research andanalysis as well, summarizes the features and the trend of the data acquisition system.Meanwhile it presents a data acquisition system project with high speed, high precision andlow power in the principle of economic, practical, simple, reliable and security. This paperuses FPGA as the core of the system. Using FPGA can control the high-speed ADC’ssampling, and low-pass filter the data using the Altera company’s FIR IP core, then store andconvert data in SDRAM and FIFO, and finally transmit these data via the serial to USBcircuit to the computer for displaying and analyzing.This paper uses the idea of top-down and modular thought to design the program of theperipheral modules. The whole system is included by five parts:A/D sampling module, FIRdigital filter module, control module, SDRAM module and the serial to USB circuit module.We use this system to test the hardware of each part’s function, and write the code to simulatethe system’s function uses the ModelSim simulation software.Finally, this paper provides an effective method to achieve the goal of high-speed dataacquisition by the way of using this system to sample the analog signal, getting many sampling data and matching these data through MATLAB to generate corresponding wave form foranalyzing and verifying.
