An Empirical Study On Farmers’ Information Requirements In Hubei Province

Chinese Government have released "No.1 Central Document" since 2004,which focus on three rural issues for 11 consecutive years, and the 18th national congress of the Communist Party of China stressed that "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" is the most important issue to solve. "Three rural issues" is a bottleneck in the process of the development of rural economy and modernization of the Chinese nation. "Three rural problems" is the current problem to be solved in the development of China. So far, The information service of "three rural issues" has been achieved some preliminary results such as increasingly improvement of information services infrastructure, information services content is getting richer and information service channels also increased significantly. But we should also be clearly recognized, famers did not get the excepted benefits in fact as the "Three Rural issues" information services object. Farmers are fundamental to solve the problem of "Three Rural issues" and farmers’ information demand is the key point of the farmers. What is famers’ information demand on earth? What factors affect the information need of farmers? How to improve the efficiency of information service? As the starting point of the research to discuss the information needs of farmers, This paper attempts to identify the factors influence farmers’ Information Demand, so as to solve the "three rural" issue some suggestions.The research object is several rural in Hubei Province, Fully understanding the information service present situation and the local farmers’ information demand in Hubei province with research methods of on-the-spot interview and questionnaire survey. Then, in a large number of factors which affect the farmers’ information needs, screening the relevant variables in addition to the actual situation suitable for farmers in Hubei Province. And then by multiple regression method of trial, the final selection of the logistic regression, and then put forward some suggestion. In this paper, the main content s are as follow:The first part is about the introduction. Based on the research background and significance of this paper, grasp research status by domestic and foreign literature review, Then combing research content and clarity purpose, proposed research methods and techniques proposed route.The second part is about the definition of the concept and theoretical basis. Decomposition article topic, focused on the theoretical basis and the concept of in formation, information needs, information needs of farmers and other aspects.The third part is divided into three parts, the first part is a brief description of the information needs of Hubei Province, the second part is to analyze the con tent of the information needs of farmers, and the third part is the analysis of the factors influence of Information Demand of farmers in Hubei Province.The fourth part is the Empirical Research on factors of farmers’ information needs in Hubei Province, including the questionnaire data processing, correlation a nalysis and regression analysis.The fifth part, for the information needs of the actual situation of farmers in Hubei Province, proposed suggestion from five directions to increase the level of information needs of farmers in Hubei Province.Part VI, research summary and outlook. For the entire study were summarize-d in this article points out the work has been completed and inadequate.
