Strategy Analysis Of Report Of Terrorist Incidents In Metropolitan Daily From Aspect Of Frame Theory

Since the September terrorist attacks, terrorism has aroused growing attention around the world, and there have been comprehensive reports of terrorist incidents.However, metropolitan daily is different from party newspaper in the reporting process of terrorist incidents, that metropolitan daily has advantages of readability and service, and it is closer to people and can affect people. Therefore, there are different reporting strategies in metropolitan daily and party newspaper. Study of reporting strategies by metropolitan daily in developed regions is of great significance to help local people resist and prevent terrorism.The three metropolitan daily reports, as object of study, reported the March 1st terrorist incident in Kunming with method of frame report of fact-reduction and different strategies, reaching good results. They adopted first-report, disinfectant, and diversified strategies to report at the first time and realize the purpose of guiding public opinion in the report.Especially about diversified report, they adopted feature story and other original reports to shape positive character;strengthened remarks to guide public opinion; and set special edition to strengthen effect, bearing the social responsibility and delivering positive energy.In addition, different report strategies have different features. Information control strategy will improve the spreading effectiveness, policy agenda setting will stimulate public interest, and deep exploration strategy will enhance public resistance. All these strategies play an active role in promoting social stability.However, there are problems of inadequate reporting system construction in humane care and anti-terrorism reports in metropolitan daily. Journalists should make positive attempt and efforts to adhere to the policy of moderate silence, handle well the scale to pile on the agony, improve the strategy of successive report, strengthen the report depth and coverage, and improve public awareness.
