Product life cycle management can help manufacturers improve their economic benefits and management levels. However, the traditional PLM concept is designed for engineering design and product development. There is a lack of management of product Operation stage. Through the analysis of the individuality and generality of product data between individual products and similar products, this paper gives the definition of the Product Operation Cycle (POC) focusing on individual product’s data in operation stage. Analyzed and modelled the data of product operation cycle, established the demand model, function model and the structure of POC management system, developed and implemented the POC management system software.Study of data analyses-From the storage form, content and status three aspects to analyze the POC data, and introduced manual submission and intelligent acquisition two kinds of data procurement method. Designed the data exchange model based on ADO technology and XML technology.Study of demand model and the function module-Formulated the requirements of POC management system, which is modeled by UML, and mapped function model from the demand model based on Axiomatic Design. Through the combination of UML model and the Axiomatic Design method, has been clear about the route for system function module design.Study of the POC management system structure-Designed a five levels architecture base on the Internet of things (IoT). The five levels are defined as: user layer, application layer, POC data model, data collection layer with RFID and ZigBee technology, data layer with Database and XML technology, in which all types of users’requirements have been satisfied.Finally, using the.Net framework, the POC management system software has been designed. Realized the product information management in daily use and the monitoring of product in operation stage. Achieved the active maintenance service and the fast fault diagnosis function in terms of product repairing and maintenance aspect.
