In recent years, the food safety problem of our country frequently go wrong, not only co nstantly stimulate the public nerves, but also cause a serious panic and a lot of anxiety. Differ ent kinds of events about food safety problem have been widely spread through various media and information platform. Media panic and the netizens’ participantion and reprint are also m ajor causes of panic in this new media times. During this process, public’s psychology and per sonality has influenced the panic and also determine how people’s view and the way they spre ad panic informations and how panic the public is. The previous research about media panic mostly focus on the spreader as to reduce the panic caused by public through media strategies,however, this research focus on the public and their personality, using the positive theory abo ut personality to verify its influence to the panic.Positive psychology aims it to find factors to make the individual, group and national a good development and these factors are used to improve human health and happiness to promote social prosperity. And positive personality is one of the most important aspects of influencing of information receiving, processing and transmission. In this paper, from the perspective of positive psychology to study the performance that the positive personality traits of the public in the media panic. Through the questionnaire survey and comparative analysis, we can know that the positive personality of public is more proactive and selectivity in the formation exposure levels, which make the positive personality of public, has more public information base in the media panic, thus positive personality of public will not easily set off panic. And the positive personality of public in the search for information has a strong incentive to seek the truth and in the information evaluation has a relatively strong position and more rational way of thinking, so that relative not easily affected by the media and manipulation. In terms of media participation and use, the positive personality of public not only more likely to spread and publish their own opinion and views, but also the public will be more active and more ideal involved in the process of information transmission, and not want echo what other says. From the angle of positive psychology, I also put forward the media scare tactics at the end of the study.
