With the fast development of Internet, the majority of households have access to broadband network. More and more residential gateway devices are deployed in households alongside the fact that the government speeds up the process of FTTH. During the earlier development of broadband network, operators managed and configured the residential gateway devices manually, which cannot meet the needs of highly developed broadband network nowadays. In order to extend the ability to support business and improve user experience, professionals in the field urge to develop an efficient and functional residential gateway management system.This thesis focuses on establishing a management platform which can help operators to manage the residential gateway devices in a more flexible, more efficient and more stable way based on the TR-069 protocol and the real situation that how operators manage the residential gateway devices currently.Firstly, the author of this thesis introduces the real situation that how operators manage the residential gateway devices currently, and introduces the background of the system and emphasizes the importance of setting up a residential gateway management system for operators. Meanwhile the author sets up the objectives of the residential gateway management system, and clarifies the application of the system in reality. And furthermore, the author of this thesis explains the concept of establishing the residential gateway management system and the basic principles of TR-069. The author of this thesis illustrates the main ideas and methods of the establishment of residential gateway management system on the basis of the needs of the system, and analyzes the general architecture of the system, system interior layers, the partition of business function component and the data model design. Based on such analysis, the whole system is composed of the north bound layer, the function layer and the south bound layer. The north bound layer is implemented based on XML and the south bound layer is implemented based on SOAP. And the function layer includes eight modules, and each module is made up of WEB layer, EJB service layer and physical layer. As to the detailed design and implementation part, the author introduces the design of each module and the implementation of each layer. The system design and implementation of the residential gateway management system is based on the mature technology of WEB and this system is constructed on the basis of B/S architecture. The front page adopts the framework of Velocity which is a Java template engine that separates Java code development and webpage development completely. The flow control and data manipulation part utilizes Struts+Spring+Hibernate+EJB framework, making the programming of business control and persistence simple and efficient. All the aforementioned J2EE framework technology provides a simple and fast development mode, which not only improves the development efficiency but also solves the problems of cross platform.The residential gateway management system, based on TR-069 protocol, enhances operators’capability of managing residential gateway devices and improves user experience. It also helps operators to imporve the ability to deploy residential gateway devices quickly, the ability to provide services flexibly and the ability to troubleshoot, which lays a solid foundation for the large-scale development of broadband network business in the future.
