RF Technology Applied To Residential Gateway

Development and application of RF technology has solved many problems facing in thepeople’s life. With the limited medical resources in the hospital and population aging, more andmore people are inclined to enjoy home health care services instead of going to hospital. However,residential gateway technology based on RF can deal with this problem.According to the demand of home health care, The RF communication technology is appliedto the residential gateway, to collect the signal of ECG, blood pressure and other health parametersfrom the end devices, or receive alarm information from the person under guardianship by RF. Tomake sure the guardians and doctors can get these information by sending GSM message, or signin the remote PC client to inquire, the module of the design can be divided into ending nodecollecting module, ending node RF module, gateway node RF module and gateway remotecommunication module. In this thesis, the ending node collecting module contains the signals ofECG and blood pressure collection. RF module adopted NRF24L01RF chip, and select theMSP430single chip as the MCU. To realize the communication with the gateway in the finaldesign, in the RF module of the gateway node, the NRF24L01and the S3C2440are communicatedby the SPI interface.The main contents of this thesis are as follows: Firstly, designing of the terminal collectingmodule, including ECG, blood pressure collecting module, component selection, hardware andsoftware design, etc. Secondly, designing of the RF transceiver module, contains RFID radiofrequency, antenna and other circuits, the main program of the MSP430as well as datatransmission and reception program. Thirdly, designing of the communication between the RFmodule and the gateway, SPI interface communication, NRF24L01drivers, etc. Forthly, remotecommunication of the gateway which including design of the Ethernet and GPRS communication.Adopting multi-threaded design ideas, to provide an effective residential gateway solutions forinformation resource management and communication.
