This paper presents and implements a new type of synthetic aperture radar imaging platform to meet the demands of real-time, high resolution and large data number in SAR imaging, in combination with the research background of the radar imaging, the actual demand and development of imaging processing system.Radar imaging processing platform adopts two DSP+ Xilinx FPGA+VPX architecture, communicating with other function board through VPX interface, to complete SAR imaging. TMS320C6678 is a high performance DSP, the frequency is up to 1.25 GHz, and this chip supports fixed and floating point operation at a high speed. TMS320C6678 has three independent DMA controllers, rich resources of internal memory, external memory expansion interfaces and high-speed serial interfaces. Then the design of power and clock module is introduced. This design not only meets the demands of platform, but also reduces power consumption and the size of board.In this paper, the high-speed interfaces on the platform are analysed. The interfaces include DDR3, Hyperlink, PCIe, SRIO and Gigabit Ethernet. Firstly, the basic principle of the high-speed interface is introduced. Secondly, this paper presents interconnection design and analyzes the software configuration. Thirdly, this paper tests and analyzes the speed of high speed interfaces. At last, the design of common interface such as GPIO, SPI on this platform is introduced.The software design of SAR platform is aimed at realizing the real-time imaging algorithm. The simple radar algorithm is introduced at the beginning of this chapter. Then algorithm optimizing with motion compensation and geometric correction is discussed. This paper introduces the map of alogorithm and task assignment, the optimization of the basis function, a reasonable allocation of storage space, synchronization and Cache consistency. Finally, this paper analyses the time of algorithm and the real-time imaging result.This paper fulfills the hardware design of platform, the dedug of high speed interface and the software design of algorithm from the principle, design and debug. Theimaging processing platform meets the real-time imaging requirement.
