The knitting industry occupies an important position in national economy, Is very important to the economic development of China. Computerized collar machine is the high-tech machinery in knitting industry, which combines computer numerical control, mechanical design and knitting technology,and it can weave a very complicated clothing organization which hand-knitting machine cannot weave. collar machine generates instructions following,the requests of weaving and the synchronized signals from the machine to make it work automatically.This paper first analyzes the development background and status quo of computer woven collar machine, Points out the shortages of domestic woven collar machine development, the paper proposes a new control system solution- using ARM and FPGA platform to achieve the computerized hosiery machine control system; Secondly, the paper introduces the whole control system scheme design, as well as the main controller and coprocessor selection; then the concrete realization of the hardware design are described in detail;,Then the controller software has made the detailed introduction and woven collar machine was tested and the reliability analysis, Then after that,the computerized hosiery machine control system is tested and some advice to reliability is given; Finally, this paper summarizes the research work carried out and looking forward to the development of the computerized collar machine and future research work.In this design of control system uses ARM and FPGA platform to achieve the computerized collar machine control system. The design may be mainly divided into three parts: the main controller, the coprocessor and driver circuit composed. To ARM as the main controller and to FPGA as a coprocessor, and FPGA implements the ARM command and controls the follow-up circuit to work; Drive circuit are mainly used for machinery of hosiery machines, and provides the hardware interface to the front-end circuitry. ARM and FPGA platform which can be extended to universal CNC platform, which is the first time introduced the concept of numerical control platform to a computerized collar machin control system design.This paper uses NXP’s chip production-LPC1788 as the as the display system, and uses the Altera’s Cyclone series two EP2C5 FPGA as a coprocessor, and in the paper specifically describe the LPC1788 master controller to control the writing of the software, and proposes a emwin graphical interface design, And in the paper presents a PS2 keyboard processing method based on synchronous serial port.The paper, for the development of high-performance computerized hosiery machine control system with independent intellectual property rights, provides the technical basis and archetypes by innovative methods, and, focuses on developing computerized hosiery machine control system based on embedded microprocessors and field programmable logic devices, combined with the computer control technology.Comparing with the traditional computerized hosiery machine control system based on MCU or IPC, this system can be upgraded, and has high scalability, small volume, low cost, high universality and many other advantages. This computerized hosiery machine control system design is reasonable, and has high integration and wide application prospects, and has quite practical value to realize the localization of computerized collar machine,and has certain practical significance to enhance the level of China’s textile industrial automation.
