This paper focuses on the research of motion control software technology basedon UML, the exploited motion control system used in this study have employed theopen structure of "PC+DSP". A suit of motion control software on computerizedquilting machine is exploited. The efficiency of this design method is tested throughrunning test.The following are the main contents:UML is applied to the design of the software system, and the function, structureand realization of both the host computer and the subordinate computer are analyzed.The application of UML not only makes the whole design of software visual,systematic, easy to manage, but also helps to find out the problems in design toenhance the stability of the software. The normative and unified Software designmethod can enhance the communication between designers. The technologies of vectordiagram and multithread also applied to the motion control system software programdesign.Aimed at the main problems in the software reliability engineering, researches ofsoftware reliability are included in this paper. The Agent-Oriented method used insoftware design, the task and modular software reliability evaluation technology, theUML based software reliability testing method are presented.In order to improve machining precision and running speed of motion controlsystem, the interpolation algorithm and speed-up and speed-down curve areameliorated. Moreover, the speed-up and speed-down control based on prediction and the synchronous position mode based on the variation of velocity are applied topractical system.The essential principle of computerized quilting machine and the designingschemes are introduced in this paper, and a whole suit of computerized quiltingmachine software based on the generalmotion control system is designed, which canachieve all the functional requirements bring forward by Consumer. It is shown throughapplication that the UML based software design method is effective.
