Academic journal carries original scientific knowledge, occupies a unique position in academic exchanges and scientific development, and plays an indispensable role that other forms of civilization cannot replace. Academic innovation、academic freedom and academic discipline, spread by academic journals, promote academic prosperity. Objectively, academic journals have the function of evaluation and guidance, so the evaluation of academic journals can help enhance the level of research, rectify academic atmosphere and promote an extensive exchange of scientific research. The current method of journal evaluation in our country includes quantitative evaluation, qualitative evaluation and the combination of qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Citation analysis contains quantitative evaluation and peer review from qualitative evaluation, and has the function of literature retrieval and analysis, forecasting research trends and research frontiers. After years of development, its theoretical system and empirical studies have tended to mature and it becomes the most commonly used method in current practice of journal evaluation. The arrival of Web 2.0 gave birth to the online research exchange environment, in which citation analysis gradually showed its limitations and disadvantages. To make up for the shortcomings of traditional evaluation methods and comply with the requirements of the times of Web 2.0, Altmetrics emerged. Altmetrics is a measure of academic influence of academic information dissemination via Web 2.0-based social networks. Altmetrics takes output data throughout research process into account, which makes it different in kind from the three traditional metrics. Specifically, they are different in six respects—research subjects, attitudes towards impact factor, data acquisition, and time of occurrence, influence generated and connotation of peer review. Altmetrics can not only commonly used in article-level metrics, but also in evaluating people, books, periodicals, websites, data set, video, programs, blog, etc. Currently, Altmetrics research themes mainly focus on Altmetrics index, utility platform and article evaluation methods. Compared with other developed countries, China has lagged far behind research for Altmetrics. Before the appearance of Altmetrics, most academic achievement influence basically used citation analysis to measure, but not all citations can reflect the influence of academic achievement influence. Altmetrics appears to offer the possibility to capture the influence of different academic achievements. Altmetrics was proposed on Twitter in 2010 by J. Priem, since then with five years’development, its connotation has been gradually clear, and has formed the difference of broad and narrow distinction. Altmetrics broadly perspective on the change of emphasis, it challenges the academia traditional quantitative evaluation system, aims to found an evaluation system to measure the full impact of diverse academic achievements, meanwhile to promote the comprehensive development of the online scientific exchanges and open science. Altmetrics narrowly researches the indicators and applications of online media measurement based on social media. This research mainly used the methods of literature research, principal component analysis and correlation analysis combining with inductive, reasoning and deductive methods. The indicators for citation analysis to evaluate the influence of journals come from JCR of WoS. The indicators of Altmetrics come from related data provided by Altmetrics Explorer. Through data filtering and processing, the final data for analysis based on 7 JCR indicators and 11 indicators Altmetrics from 58 LIS journals. Using principal component analysis to extract main components under two measurement methods, then calculate the overall score of 58 journals under both methods. Then explore the correlation between the two measurement methods based on the correlation analysis by SPSS. In this study, the correlation coefficient was 0.261, shows that there is a weak positive correlation between them. This result explains that they measure the influence of journals from different aspects and should be used to complement each other. The evaluation of journals influence should be multi-dimensional and comprehensive. The combining of two measurement methods can give objective weights to measure influence under two systems so that can comprehensive measure and evaluate the influence of journals. Open access can improve journals’academic influence and social influence, for publishers, providing authors with complex OA journals publishing choice can increase journals’overall influence. Journals evaluation should be guided by "full evaluation" theory, avoiding quantitative, simple, formal and simplistic evaluation. China should improve the online scholarly communication system and promote academic achievement spread on social networks and social media. We also should develop platforms and tools to track and collect such data to provide environmental and technical support for research. It is the future research directions to evaluate the comprehensive influence of journals of other disciplines and Chinese journals.
