Research On The Evaluation Of Authors' Academic Influence Based On Citation And Link Analysis

The author is the source power of the output of scientific research achievements,and bears the main responsibility of inheriting,disseminating and creating scientific and cultural knowledge.With the continuous development of scientific research,the academic exchanges between the authors have become increasingly close.In the process of scientific knowledge exchange and dissemination,the influence of the author’s academic achievements on the thoughts and behaviors of other researchers is called the author’s academic influence.The author’s academic influence not only represents the author’s academic level and scientific research strength,but also reflects the academic reputation and discipline strength of the author’s research unit.Identifying high influence authors can provide important decision-making reference for fund allocation and talent introduction.In the final analysis,the identification of high academic influence authors is the evaluation of their academic influence.Through the investigation of the literature on the evaluation of authors’ academic influence,it is found that most of the existing studies do not distinguish the actual utilization degree of each paper.At the same time,there are few studies on the distribution characteristics of citation frequency and the differences of citation authors.On the basis of the existing research,this paper designs a comprehensive evaluation index which combines time weighted citation frequency,citation equilibrium and citation quality,and gives an effective method to evaluate the author’s academic influence.The research content of this paper is divided into five chapters: Chapter 1 mainly introduces the research background and significance of the author’s academic influence evaluation,collates and reviews the research results of the author’s academic influence evaluation based on citation analysis and link analysis at home and abroad,introduces the research methods and research tools of this paper,and puts forward the main content,research ideas and innovation of this paper.Chapter 2 mainly summarizes the theories and methods related to the evaluation of the author’s academic influence,which lays a theoretical foundation for this study.The third chapter constructs the evaluation index of the author’s academic influence based on citation and link analysis.Firstly,referring to the four quadrant rule,according to the publishing time(age)and citation frequency(utilization degree),the author’s papers are divided into four types: hot papers,classic papers,potential papers and ordinary papers.The academic value of each paper is distinguished,and the time weighted citation frequency index(C-T)is proposed.Secondly,the improved Theil index is used to characterize the equilibrium characteristics of the author’s cited frequency distribution,and the cited balance index(C-B)is proposed.Secondly,the Page Rank algorithm is used to reveal the cited quality of the author’s papers from the academic status of the author,reflecting the influence of the author in the citation network.Finally,through the method of GRA,a comprehensive evaluation index of the author’s academic influence based on citation and link analysis-R index(R index for short).Chapter 4 makes an empirical study on 78 authors in the field of Library and information science,and finds that: C-T index can accurately locate the author’s high impact papers,reflecting the contribution of high-quality papers to the author’s academic influence;The C-B index takes into account the balanced characteristics of the author’s citation distribution.When the author’s citation frequency is the same or similar,the more balanced the distribution of the author’s citation frequency is,the more stable the author’s academic level is;Page Rank index reveals the cited quality of the author’s paper from the perspective of the importance of the author.The higher the academic status of the author,the higher the academic influence of the author;R index is positively correlated with h-index and total cited frequency,but R index is more comprehensive.On the basis of previous studies,this paper studies the evaluation of authors’ academic influence from two aspects of citation analysis and link analysis,proposes C-T index and C-B index,reveals the quality of authors’ cited by Page Rank index,and finally constructs the R index of authors’ academic influence evaluation by using grey correlation analysis method To further enrich and improve the evaluation system of the author’s academic influence.
