On The Public Service For Archives In The Digital Environment

With the popularization and application of information technology, the archives service work changes from the traditional manual management into the information-based digital operation. Under the new environment, the public service for archives work encounters with new opportunities and challenges. And great changes have taken place in contents and methods of public service for archives because of informatization.Under the digital environment, this study reviews the researches on public service of archives, combines and then optimizes it along with informatization. Archives of public service have been analyzed by SWOT method under digital environment in order to roundly conclude its historical background, advantages and disadvantages of development. As a result, the study shall be applied in real situation for profound guidance.Firstly, this study concludes and arranges researches on public service for archives home and aboard to define its basic concept and connotation, then explains key content of digital environment. Secondly, it summarizes similarities and differences by comparing several aspects from traditational archives public service with digital archives public services. The main feature of this study is to apply SWOT method in research to analyze step by step the advantages, disadvantages and inside & outside environement of archives service department. So, the problems and challenges changing archives public service meet will be revealed clearly. Thirdly, this study undertakes countermeasure analysis for possible questions, and then proposes suggestion which is also theoretical and operational. At last, details of this study has been concluded and expected.Through SWOT analysis and theoretical study on archives public service under digital environment, this study enriches its application theory, expands its researching perspectives, and also provides practial suggestions for its information building.
