Since 2012, when the MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) became more and more popular in China, it has made great influence on higher education. A series of researches about the relation of MOOC and higher education start in succession. At this point, as an inportant part of higher education, what kind of measures should the library take? The developed countries have started the practice of libraries service to the MOOC. However, most of the Chinese libraries are still in wait-and-see state. With the continuous development of MOOC research, the link between the library and the MOOC constantly appears. Meanwhile, it also shows out an opportunity to break the current impasse. The library can take MOOC as a fulcrum to improve the status in the field of education and culture. Currently, some developed foreign university libraries have began the practice and theory study. Some of the Chinese libraries have began trying to carry out the practice and theoretical research. Research papers became more and more abundant. At present, the development of the MOOC is in a very bumpy road, if the libraries can become the leader of MOOC development, it will be a great help to the library reform.The paper gives an outline of the concept, characteristics, typical of MOOC, summarizes the MOOC’s influence on higher education, and then from the correlation between MOOC, libraries and higher education, reasoning out that the library should join MOOC wave, the library should use her own advantages, to seize the opportunity of MOOC wave, and to improve the position in higher education. This article enumerates the case of the three universities in this respect at home and abroad. Finally, it discusses the position and role of library in the MOOC environment, as well as the service innovation of the libraries. Presently, the research about library in MOOC education is still in its infancy, I hope I can make a little contribution in the research of this aspect. The article includes the following seven parts:The first part:introduction, this paper puts forward the topic research background, research significance, research status at home and abroad, research contents, research methods and innovation points;The second part:introducing MOOC, including its concept, characteristics and design of education concept, typical platform at home and abroad, the important influence on the higher education;The third part:this part is mainly around the correlation of the MOOC with libraries and higher education, to argue that the library should take an active part in MOOC, MOOC brought "destructive" changes to higher education, at the same time, the MOOC provides an opportunity for the library, the library can become a MOOC guide. First of all, from the current domestic status, function and advantages of the library in higher education, puts forward the necessity and the possibility of library service MOOC; Furthermore, introducing the MOOC and library development dilemma, and then emphasizes the coordinated development of the library and MOOC will achieve a win-win situation;The fourth part:to show at home and abroad to participate in the actual case of MOOC, library enumerates two American colleges and universities library (MOOC leader) two years to provide a series of innovative services to MOOC, lists a domestic university libraries in MOOC support services to make a plan and a preliminary study;The fifth part:Discuss MOOC influence on library individualized service and the improvement measures, influence mainly has four aspects:subject resource service is high, the information literacy, knowledge service mode, the librarians’ quality, proposed the suggestion and countermeasures;The sixth part:the analysis of the library is summarized in the MOOC role positioning and environment. Mainly includes:MOOC movement advocates, the university MOOC’s education leaders, MOOC resources sharing, learning space providers, information literacy trainers, copyright liquidators MOOC, curriculum and assessment, etc. The seventh part:summary and Outlook.
