Research Of News Sources Of Mainstream Newspaper In Food Safety In China

Over the past decades, food safety incidents have become frequent occurrence in China. The study of risk transmission is increasingly becoming outstanding school. These sensitive issues attract high social concern. The media activities of choosing, labeling, highlighting and reconstructing the variety of sources in reports are essential for the public to understand food safety incidents.In this paper, the empirical survey data analysis methods and content analysis methods are applied to discuss how food security sources reports present sources of the focus events and try to carry out the comparative study of the food safety issues on the mainstream newspapers and specialized newspapers. On the base of unsystematic description research at home and abroad, we are trying to build a method pattern by means of medium-sized source theoretical research. Take the newspapers "Southern Weekly" and "Chinese food safety" as Examples, through the distribution of the samples in source and the feature of the way by which the media get and selectively processing sources, this paper aims to explore the basic situation of how China’s food security sources be used. At the same time, further studies are carried out about the basic properties of the characters sources which includes the discourse strength and directivity of character sources and the discovery of the discourse debate of the strong and weak presence in sources of the sensitive issues. In addition, there is a big difference on the source selection and processing between the mainstream popular media "Southern Weekend" and professional media "China Food Safety News". The "Southern Weekly" shows the position of objective and independent and pluralistic media features while the "China Food Safety News" showed strong official and simplification features.On the basis of empirical evidence, this paper further explores the theoretical issues of the source of the news, and finds out the medium and outside factors that influence the source of the news from the perspective of media ecology. To think about the independence of media discourse and the diversification of the source of information from mainstream print’s self localization, find out the balance of the contradiction between the report news and the source, and put forward relative feasible countermeasures and suggestions.
