| This thesis analyses Chinese environmental news reporting based on the reportings fromSouthern Weekly and China Environment News by using group sampling, which selects8yearsbetween1984and2012. Through the analysis of4919collected samples both in longitudinaland transverse comparation, the thesis trend to present the condition of Chinese environmentalnews reporting, including strengths and weaknesses, advantages and aspects that need to beimproved.What is more, by longitudinal summary and review historically, the thesis shows a clearunderstanding of environmental news and journalism development.At last, from the perspective of Development Media Theory, mass media shall be a catalystfor social innovation and a new-thing promoter. By reporting environmental issues, mass mediareveals problems as well as introduces role model to the public. |
