| This paper focuses on the hot social topic of China:the doctor-patient relationship. It’s a study on the related news reports on Dragon TV for the last three years (2012-2014), from the perspective of the framing theory.Firstly, literature study has been done to get basic understanding of the history and concept of Framing Theory and doctor-patient relationship. The reasons of the tense relationship between doctors and patients have also been discussed.Secondly, the definition of doctor-patient relationship is made, and framing analysis method is used to analyze the frame of doctor-patient relationship report of Dragon TV, including news source, news theme, information source, news schema and news screenshot. Following findings have been showed:more than half of the reports use the material of other medium; the theme of the harmonious and the conflicting relationship is balanced, the violent conflicting theme is getting more outstanding, and the related themes is growing too; the information source is partial to the doctors, but in the conflicting themes, the information cares for the victims; the news schema of the coverages of violent conflicting theme is comprehensive, but the depth reports need to be strengthened; the rough footage editing and the asynchronous of picture and lyrics weaken the performance of the news screenshot.Finally, this study discusses the impact of the news frame on media reports. The news frames between different medium can be familiar because they regard each other as a reference. The unbalance information source may be coursed by the media regulation, the journalism credibility and the competitiveness in the marketing. The media should take up its role, by using multi-angle facts to lead the audience to think and create a tolerant public opinion environment to improve doctor-patient relationship. |
