With the rapid development of semiconductor devices, wireless sensor networks are becoming the next generation of intelligent information acquisition and transmission systems. Wireless sensor networks have been widely used in many areas, such as military defense, industrial and agricultural production, environmental monitoring, intelligent traffic management. Wireless sensor networks have played an important role in people’s lives.The wireless sensor network nodes are usually supplied by battery resulting in that power consumption is one of the key issues. This paper discusses several common plane routing protocols and LEACH routing protocol with their advantages and disadvantages. And then we propose two improved routing protocol algorithms based on the existing plane routing protocol and LEACH routing protocol.Since plane routing protocol transmission direction is not fixed, and prone to information implosion. This paper establishes different gradients base on base node, to ensure wireless data transmission direction toward the base node. In LEACH, the paper mainly improves from two aspects:1、In cluster head electoral processing, an additional condition is added under the condition that remaining energy of cluster node is higher than average energy of the whole wireless sensor network; 2、cluster node can communicate with the base node indirectly. Multihop routing without direct transmission between cluster and base node can avoid excessive energy consumptionThe simulation results show that the improved algorithms can enhance the utilization of battery power better than before, and extend the life of wireless sensor network effectively.
