Development Of Warehouse Management System Combining WLAN And RFID For China Mobile Tangshan

With continuous development of mobile network, the management of variousengineering materials becomes increasingly important for mobile companies. Thetraditional warehouse management modes, mostly relying on manpower to operatedocuments, are not only tedious and likely to cause loss due to human errors but alsoinefficient. However, the introduction of intelligent warehouse managementinformation system combining Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology andWLAN network can improve the problems of warehouse management. RFIDtechnology greatly reduce artificial errors. Meanwhile, WLAN network is featuredwith high efficiency and stability in data transmission. The perfect combination ofRFID technology and WLAN network will make the intelligent system more practical,which can ease the difficulty of inventory management and improve the accuracy.Based on the analysis of Tangshan Mobile’s requirements in warehousemanagement, this program designed and realized the intelligent warehousemanagement system. This paper firstly introduced the RFID technology, WLANnetwork and other related technologies used in the system realization process, andpointed out the necessity of combining WLAN network and RFID technology inwarehouse management. Then, it designed and realized the warehouse managementsystem based on WLAN and RFID.The transformed business flow module coversmany functions, including stock management, stock removal management, stocktakingmanagement, device positioning management, device&materials inventory alertnotification, workflow management, statistic analysis and system management, and italso drew out the transformed business flow chart, which finally satisfied themanagement requirements of the workers in the warehouse management department.At present, the intelligent warehouse management system has been successfullyapplied in the warehouse management business of Tangshan Mobile, which runs stablywith sound effects.
