| Objectives This study, on the basis of commentary on the psychological capital for itsconnotation, theoretical sources and research status, taking some editors of medicaljournals as the research object, aims to analyze the constitute situation of current Chinesemedical journal editorial staff and the present situation of psychological capital andinvestigates the strategy to effectively develop the psychological capital of medicaljournal editors. This research results make medical journal editors correctly understandthemselves and the surrounding environment and methods of developing andaccumulating psychological capital, promote them to develop a positive attitude towardslife and maintain a healthy state of mind; at the same time,it better motivates medicaljournal editors for medical media management, helps build a reasonable human resourcemanagement system and promote the quality improvement of medical media on thepsychological theory basis and practice guidance.Methods With the questionnaires of psychological capital scale (PCQ) and self-madegeneral questionnaires formation to evaluate340medical journal editors,318validquestionnaire responses are received. The study uses SPSS13.0statistical softwareanalysis of medical journal editors composition and the present situation of psychologicalcapital and uses literature research combined with the interview method to investigate thedevelopment strategy of medical journal editors’ psychological capital.Results Overall average medical journal editors psychological capital is (4.38±0.35)andthe highest among the four factors is self-efficacy (4.59±0.39), the second is toughness(4.35±0.45) and optimism(4.35±0.47)and the lowest is hope (4.24±0.47). There is nosignificant difference in places of birth and marital status of medical journal editors’psychological capital and there are,to some extent,some significant differences in ageand job status and quite significant in gender, education, income and service year.Conclusions Medical journal editor’s overall psychological capital level is high butthere is still great development space. Combining previous research results and empiricalstudies, this paper puts forward such suggestions as optimizing medical journal editor’sprofessional environment, strengthening the medical journal editors psychological capitalself-improvement and developing psychological capital from daily recruitment management, training management, performance management and salary management inhuman resources management, and proposes some concrete operating methods. Throughthe further development of psychological capital, it can improve the medical journaleditors’ level of psychological capital and periodical agency management level, and thenimprove the quality of medical journals and enhance the comprehensive competitivenessof Chinese periodical industry. |
