In current society, all the national colleges and universities have been improvingtheir levels as the domestic and overseas environment is witnessing dramatic changes.Since the advanced education bodies began to expand their enrollment in1999, thecolleges with rapid growth have confronted adjusting or reforming their developinggoals. Under such a condition, library in higher education, as the knowledge tank andbank, has played a role of mainstream to foster the establishing and developing of allthe faculties and programs, whereas the fundamental working system of library hasshown its defects, which will definitely contribute to blocking the growth of theschool in a long term.Up to now, there exist a great number of conservative and obsolete managementsystems and methods to manage library operations in most of China’s library andthose old-fashioned concepts, contents and approaches have seriously hindered thehealthy progress for all the library work, thus failing to maximize its functions. Atpresent, Human Resource management has been far behind the demand in theknowledge age across China’s libraries. It is a tough and challenging task to keep thevitality of library and to retain the comprehensive, coordinative and sustainabledevelopment of it.This paper was born under such a circumstance, taking Ren’ai College as anexample, demonstrating the current conditions and problems of HR management inRen’ai library, and based on this study, strategies to cope with these problems areadvocated. this paper also explores new management system and creative mechanismand absorbs the advanced management systems both at home and abroad to build up anew system to introduce brains, retain elites and cultivate talents. Thus by virtue ofprinciples and concerns, more humanized and scientific incentives will be developedto motivate librarians to escalate service and management of libraries in highereducation in this new age.
