Service is one of the basic attributes of the library, or say the foundation of the library. Good or bad service, high and low quality of service, the reader satisfication with the service provides by the library or not, directly determines the library’s level and strength. So how to improve the service quality has been become the focus of library at present. With concerning about the quality of service, assessment and management of the library service quality has also been becoming hot and attented. This paper introduces the service quality evaluation system-LibQUAL+TM, then probes its applicability in our libraries and modifies it through literature survey and data analysis, and finally makes an empirical study. This paper can be divided into the following sections:Firstly, this paper introduces the definition of library service quality assessment, quality assessment and classification of the library; describes the status of domestic and foreign Libqual+studies to explain the meaning of library service quality and significance;Secondly, through the relevant literature, draw on relevant practice established Libqual+library based on the quality assessment system. Design a quality assessment system of indicators, evaluation methods, and effective critique of the questionnaire answer and effective way; describes the survey sample design, questionnaire distribution recovery, describes data processing programs.Thirdly, this paper selects a "985" University Library, a "211" University Library, an ordinary University Library to do empirical research on vertical comparison of the three libraries and horizontal comparison between them, and analyzes reason of them. Finally, the empirical results are fed back to the three university libraries’leadership to get the evaluation of them and further validate the applicability of the modified Liqual+. On the other hand, feedback information can ask libraries’leaders for advice about how to improve library climate at the point of librarians and how to improve library service quality. Respectively, from the "library literature resources","library facilities and the environment","quality of librarians" and "access to library literature quickness" four-level indicators of the three University Library Museum quality assessment level indicators for analysis; analysis of university library there are causes of quality problems; described the university library quality improvement measures.
